Fix for labels appearing as black outlines only in some cases.

Also put date/time back in revision.txt so that it is always marked to be comitted, even though the date/time is not used any more.

Rewrite versioning code to avoid the need for putting date/time in revision.txt (and thus avoid localised dates).
